  if anyone is up for a meetup in a public place anytime soon around southern california let me know.

  i am not a good organizer of these things but if anyone wants to organize a meetup i am all for it, it can be near disneyland or surroundings!

  Is it true? Heard a rumor WT postphones Disfellowshipping until further notice!!??

  i am not sure if it's true but i heard from a good source that wt has given instructions to elders to postponed disfellowshipping members from wrong doing/gross sin until further instructions given by headquarters.

  i heard some jws were just reproved either privately or publically.

  has anyone else heard anything like this recently?

  KateWild: A elder (who knows TTATT and is slowly fading) who has a high up ranking relative at Bethel. This elder I've known since the late 90s when I was 17 and I just started going to mtgs, he is 3rd generation born in and all his family was in. Very respected elder because the family he came from, he is now about 60s.. He started having doubts with the overlapping generations, if you were in his group at book study he you couldn't go into it without studying or doing research, always into prophecies, facts and logical person. He made sure you came prepared to your book study, he would give us questions to do research for next book study. Ran into him a few months back at the grocery store and I already knew TTATT so I knew how reasonable and logical of a man he is I asked him what he thought about the overlapping generation teachings. That is when I discover he wasn't buying it. So I ran into him again recently.

  That congregation at one point had like 17 elders in it and 8 Ms. for only 110 publishers. We were the only English congregation in a predominate Spanish speaking territory.

  Not sure but it seems they are taking a lighter approach towards sins committed by JWs, elders not quick to DF anymore.

  WT Mtg "read scriptures" are only to be read by a 1 brother???

  we had co visit recently & it appears that the co told the elders of the congregation that the scriptures indicated on the wt to be "read" on the watchtower study are only to be read by 1 brother in the entire study.... the elder conducting the watchtower announced that at the wt mtg... i was like what???

  only men?....

  has anyone else had this occur in their congregation?

  @Dunedain: yes you are correct that's how the WT mtg is conducted, do you remember the WT also having scriptures cited on the paragraphs? Well they are still there but now some say "read Luke 21:8" for i.e. meaning the scripture needs to be read whereas before it was left it up to the conductor to decide which ones he wanted to have read by whoever raises their hand & hrs choses bro/sis or a child... there are other scriptures that don't say "read" & normally the conductor doesn't have anyone read them.... hopefully that makes since.

  What is the Real Financial Cost of a Circuit Assembly?

  my congregation along with about thirty others attends circuit assemblies at a facility that is owned by the organization (a converted school).

  this building also has a section that serves as a kh for three local congregations.

  i have noticed that when the financial reports are read at the assemblies that the expense (which is not detailed) is always around $4,000.

  Wow the last assembly we had in summer the expense was 11k it always goes between 11,000- 13,0000 per day, we are usually 2300 in attendance, i also don't understand why soo much & this last time I noticed a drop in attendance because normally we are around 3300, i wonder if they decreased the # of congregations per circuit now...

  Divergent: yes I thought it was good to have different readers just because it's just not males doing it, i wonder if this is another case of woman not have much of a role... don't think it even makes sense in their 144k doctrine either since it's made up of male & woman & only bros have a final say?? Crazy changes it finally got caught up at our hall now

  Yearbook - will they drop figures that show a decline?

  correct me if I am wrong but I remember them putting how many where DF'd yearly. that was negative. It would be cool if they can publish how many DA's & DF'd for apostasy.

  i've always maintained a huge sense of justice, when presented with facts and truth i don't tolerate hypocrisy and "fake" my path in life.

  i relate to nancy grace from hln, seeking justice and truth.

  many friends tell me i would be a great lawyer for my candor and directness, i don't think soo because i honestly do not like confrontation.

  I've always maintained a huge sense of Justice, when presented with facts and truth I don't tolerate hypocrisy and "fake" my path in life. I relate to Nancy Grace from HLN, seeking justice and truth. Many friends tell me I would be a great lawyer for my candor and directness, I don't think soo because I honestly do not like confrontation. When I know something is false I just abandon it and continue my journey I never try to convince anyone but will explain my position in things once confronted or asked.

  Since being awaken from this "myth of a fantasy" in JW land so when asked by an elder "it would be nice to see you out in the ministry" I wanted to tell him exactly what I thought "I see no purpose in recruiting people into this religion. I don't feel comfortable promoting a brand JW.ORG and We are being deceived, lied too and have wasted many years of our lives in an organization who after not having any need for you any longer wouldn't hesitate to will spit you out like dirt".

  But I caught myself and with my blood boiling inside I told him "thank you for your concern, I will pray about it" and thought many who went thru this (hearing the JC recordings available) and they all been treated with no regard to them as human beings when in fact having legitimate concerns, I admire your courage for going thru that... hearing your experiences show how no matter how well you present your doubts and facts before the elders, you were still "spiritually stone" & excommunicated and lost your family in JW. In all the experiences I've read and heard not one elder when presented with facts and copies of old watchtowers of the same things we discovered dared to acknowledge the doubts are legitimate and or they themselves a pursuer of justice and truth.

  I wonder anyone on this forum who was an elder ever sat thru an "apostasy" JC meeting and caused you any doubts or thought of the information presented by a person who you were about to DF?

  The fade did not work

  not long after learning ttatt, my hubby and i decided it would be best for us to fade.

  his entire family is in, but not in the same cong.

  we made it to the region convention and one sunday meeting after that.

  I started to fade slowly about a few weeks ago, started with not going out in service 6 months ago, then recently stop going to the MS meeting because that whole meeting is about "recruiting people" people out in service, which I don't do anyways... I have a harder time sitting thru the watchtower study. Everything is the same, last days, Armageddon around the corner, teaching others about the WT, how to do more, can we do more??, teaching our children abt the WT, don't venture into things that will take you away from mts, service, etc....plus they continuously talk about Jesus presence since 1914 and how he chose this channel and must stay close to his "organization" to gain salvation... So I am down to only the public talk and that too is tied into service, meetings and doing more!.... The only thing I will miss is not finding an excuse for a new skirt or new dress for a coming convention!! jajajajaja
